The Overseas Market Introduction Service is provided by the Commercial Departments of Diplomatic Service Posts overseas as part of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office's and the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills joint trade development operation, UK Trade & Investment.

Whereas every effort will be made to ensure that the information given through this service is accurate, the Department and UK Trade and Investment and its sponsoring Departments accept no responsibility for any errors, omissions or misleading statements in that information and no responsibility is accepted as to the standing of any firm, company or individual mentioned.

This Privacy Policy covers the treatment of personal data which you submit to us. (Personal data is defined as any information relating to an identified or identifiable individual.) We will process any personal data you provide in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

When you submit personal data to us, you understand and agree that this data will be supplied to UK Trade & Investment and the Department for Business , Innovation and Skills who will take appropriate steps to ensure that personal data is protected from unauthorised use and kept in a secure manner either electronically or on manual records.

  • The data is to be collected for the purpose of promoting UK business competitiveness and to help secure overseas sales and investments. This may involve the information being used by UK Trade & Investment or the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills for direct marketing and other activities for export promotion purposes. It may also involve the transfer of data outside the European Economic Area via our overseas offices.

  • In order to provide you with advice, the personal data may be passed to a carefully selected UK based Trade Association or Chamber of Commerce who may contact you in future to offer related services.
